Top 10 Gamecube Games - You Should Have
By JJ Hendricks

Hundreds of games were developed for Nintendo Gamecube since it was released on 2001. With so many gamecube games, you might confuse to choose which gamecube games you want to buy. From my opinion, these ten gamecube games below are the games which every Gamecube owner should have in their collection:

10. Super Mario Sunshine - Mario uses a water pack to levitate and shoot enemies. The fun parts of this gamecube games are when you’re not use the water pack at all, do pure platforming like previous Mario games.

9. Pikmin - Control huge swarms of tiny plant creatures and throw them to enemies, solve puzzles, and rebuild your space ship. You have to beat the game in 30 game days, so the entire adventure has a sense of speed and adrenaline while you try to beat the game fast enough.

8. Zelda Twilight Princess - A mature Link tries to save Princess Zelda from the worlds of dark and light. Twilight Princess is the first Zelda game where Link can control other animals and turns into a wolf.

7. Animal Crossing - You move into a house in a new town and must get to know the townsfolk while running errands, planting trees, designing t-shirts, and decorating your house. It is similar with ‘The Sims’ game.

6. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - A platforming game using the Gamecube Bongo’s as the controller. Run left and right with left and right drumbeats. Jump by hitting both and punch by clapping. The game is short but each level is unique and has different goals to achieve besides just getting to the end.

5. Zelda Wind Waker - A very fun adventure, Link can control the winds on this game. Link rides a giant board to across the whole world, find secrets at the sea, and go to many islands to save princess Zelda.

4. Super Monkey Ball - Roll a monkey around the levels while he inside the ball. The single player mode is like a puzzle where you have to get the monkey through a goal without falling off a ledge. But the game really fun in multiplayer mode. Monkey Boxing, Monkey Racing, and best of all Monkey Target. Up to four players can play this at once.

3. Mario Kart Double Dash - A faster, better graphics Mario Kart game plus you can control two racers instead of one. Each character has a special weapon only they can receive so picking your combo of riders is very important.

2. Super Smash Bros Melee - It uses the joystick and two buttons for almost every move. Anyone can pick up and start playing, but experts will learn different combos and “secret” moves to keep them coming back for more.

1. Metroid Prime - Great weapons, thoughtful puzzles, beautiful graphics, and fun game play. If you like first person shooters or liked the original Metroid games, you will love this gamecube game!

With any or all of these ten gamecube games in your collection, you should have hours of fun and definitely enjoy your gamecube buy. Also don’t forget, these ten gamecube games are compatible to be played at Wii, so don’t miss the fun!

Wii Rock Band - The Greatest Video Game Ever

Wii Rock Band is the game for people who love music. Not only can play the guitar like you play in Guitar Hero,  you can also sing & play the drums. The singing and the drumming is really interesting because it’s so much like the real thing  (unlike the guitar, playing is not like play a real guitar).

Worth The Money

I thought it may be a mistake considering the very high cost of this Nintendo Revolution System (over $180 including tax).  But I am a huge music lover and Wii Rock Band looked like fun, so I splurged on it.  I’m glad I did.  It is easily the best video game ever.

Forget Guitar Hero

I already had Guitar Hero for my Wii. I had played it quite a bit at first but quickly grew bored of it as while it can be fun at first - after awhile it seems pointless as it doesn’t have anything to do with playing a real guitar.

Drumming & Singing

For me what makes Wii Rock Band so awesome is the drumming and singing portions. Sure the guitar part can be amusing. But it’s the drumming and singing that make it awesome. Why? Because when you become a good drummer on Wii Rock Band you actually improve your real life drumming abilities! That’s because it’s such a lifelike representation of what it’s like to play real drums.

Similarly with the singing part of the game. If you can learn to sing a song on Wii Rock Band at a very high level on the expert setting then you are becoming a much better singer who has greatly improved their ability to sing in key. How cool is that?!

Possible Nintendo Pokemon Gold & Silver Remake For Nintendo DS?
By Dane Del Valle

A possibly fake scan has been circulated all around the internet getting every Nintendo Pokemon fanatic’s attention. It’s a scan featuring two box art covers exposing what looks to be a Nintendo Pokemon Gold & Silver version remake for the Nintendo DS. Though I’m sure many fans were excited to see this scan there has still been no confirmation on a possible remake. Other sources indicate that GameFreak (Developers of Nintendo Pokemon video game series) has bought the rights to the names Dusk Gold & Dawn Silver. Although the Idea doesn’t seem so unlikely there’s still no solid proof.

Nintendo Pokemon Recap

In the latest Nintendo Pokemon versions (Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum) a new migration system was installed where Pokemon could be transferred from any of the GameBoy Advance games such as: Fire Red, Leaf Green, Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald. This addition was necessary for those devoted trainers who wished to stay true to Nintendo Pokemon motto and set a goal to try a catch em’ all. There was no other way to have a complete roster of all the Pokemon without this migration system. With the remakes of Pokemon Red & Blue Version, titled Fire Red & Leaf Green, for the GBA, one could capture Pokemon from both Kanto and Johto regions just like in the previous GameBoy releases except now transfers to ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald or even directly to Nintendo Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum were possible. Transfers from GameBoy to GBA were impossible due to an unbalanced Nintendo Pokemon stat system. Outside of Nintendo Pokemon migrating ,Game Freak Utilized the GBA slot even further by allowing players to insert their old GBA Pokemon games to manipulate the appearances of certain Nintendo Pokemon in areas that were unattainable otherwise. So there was now a way to virtually capture every Nintendo Pokemon up to date, outside of Pokemon conventions featuring event specific Pokemon.

Nintendo DSi & Nintendo Pokemon

On November 1, 2008 in Japan, Nintendo released their latest version of the DS lite; the Nintendo DSi. With a Variety of Modifications added, one that stood out to many Nintendo fans was that it will no longer support GBA cartridges. This did not sit well in the Nintendo Pokemon community. Though it’s new features and new looks were appealing to most, this would create a huge inconvenience to most Nintendo Pokemon fans. Nintendo Pokemon Migration would be impossible. It would benefit fans more to keep holding on to their Nintendo DS lite while the migration system was functional. Many believe that the Nintendo DSi’s lack of Support for GBA is what brewed rumors and fake scans on remakes of Nintendo Pokemon Gold & Silver for DS, making it easier for players to trade Nintendo Pokemon from previous regions without having to migrate them. This would also pose as a problem to players who rely on their GBA games to try and transfer or capture certain types that can’t be attained any other way.

Poke Rap-up

With all the facts weighed, it’s safe to say that a remake of Nintendo Pokemon Gold & Silver would be a lovely addition to Nintendo Pokemon series. Me being a fan, I would personally like to see a remake of these two classics. I have tons of fond memories with these games but I also careful to keep my feet on the ground and not having my hopes set too high for something that, deep down inside, we all know might not happen. For those who wish to add any insight on the rumors please feel free to comment and add any other information regarding Dusk Gold and Dawn Silver. We can all agree that rumor or not, the idea of a remake isn’t so far fetched. =)
