Each one of us must have heard the name of a game “The Super Mario Bros”. They are one of the most recognizable pairs of video game characters ever created by Nintendo.

When I bought my Nintendo Entertainment System Super Mario Bros game was included in its package. The Nintendo had realized the success of the game at first release. I was in video game heaven with better graphics, sounds, presentation and depth of the game. It was a whole new gaming experience.

Several Nintendo systems, like the ‘Game cube’ and the ‘N64′ are available and still comes with “Super Mario Bros Games” with newer versions of Super Mario game that are more enjoyable to play with. Nintendo, a Japanese based company is most benefited by ‘Super Mario Bros’ than any other advertising campaign they may have ever used. Definitely, there are so many new versions of Super Mario Bros games available in the market today.

Recently, I played Mario Kart series of Super Mario Bros games and became my favorite. These Super Mario games are fun because they are designed to be played against other players at the same time. Earlier, you could play the original Super Mario Brothers games with more than one player, but not simultaneously making it a problem for two or more to play at the same time. The other player had to wait for your friend’s player to die so you could have your turn. But in new version, “Mario Kart” gaming has a new experience as now you can play with several at the same time.

Nintendo Pink DS - What It’s Got and Where to Find One

The Nintendo pink DS is one of the many choices of Nintendo DS Lite colors that you have to select from when want to buy a Nintendo DS lite console. Although on the face of it pink is an unlikely color for a piece of high tech equipment, the color scheme is very popular, especially for girls.

So what does your Nintendo pink DS give you in terms of features. Firstly, your Nintendo pink DS has dual screens - one in the lid and one in the bottom part of the console. These two screens have independent processors which opens up a whole world of possibilities when designing applications and games for the DS lite.

The Nintendo lite DS also has other rather unique features such as:

1) Wireless multi-player capabilities that function up to about a 30m (100ft) diameter around a player.

2) A built in microphone that allows a player to interact with some of the games.

3) A touch screen. This allows the gamer to have direct input into some games and will enhance the gaming experience as more games make use of this feature.

4) The Nintendo Wi-Fi connection which is a free online connection using wireless internet points and allows Nintendo DS users to interact in games with anyone, anywhere.

So there, very briefly, are a few of the features of the Nintendo pink DS - and the black Nintendo DS lite, silver, white, crimson-black and blue to name but a few!

Black Nintendo DS Lite Review

The color black has become one of favorite color of DS Console to buy, especially for male gender and those who wants elegant non-paled color.

This black Nintendo DS lite unit features two incredibly bright LCD screens offer one of the most innovative groundbreaking game play advances ever made. Both of these 3-inch screens can recreate a true 3D display view with a very impressive 3D graphical display.

The bottom screen of the DS offers something that has never been seen before in any hand held gaming device - a touch-screen. You can now navigate menus by simply touching the screen with a stylus pen or your finger. This functionality leads to unlimited possibilities for game developers. Nintendo put a lot of thought into this unit and it shows even on the small features like the touch screen with its rugged film cover for durability, and the sleek stylus that is neatly stored in the back of the device.

One of my favorite features of the black Nintendo DS lite is that it doesn’t just play DS games but it also has a very nifty backwards capable port for Game Boy Advance Game Packs as well. Also, with Nintendo DS’s impressive laundry list of features including the very popular Wi-Fi Connection. The build in Wi-Fi connection will allow you to connect wirelessly, chat and play with Nintendo DS owners around the world. Good decision by Nintendo deciding to make this freely accessible.

There are absolutely no subscription fees, the service is free! With the Black Nintendo DS Lite, you can connect with a local wireless network of up to 16 players. The Black Nintendo DS Lite, also called the onyx, has sound capabilities that allow for unprecedented use of voices and richer, higher quality game experience. A built-in microphone port means that with Nintendo DS, you only need to tell your games what to do. Nintendo didn’t skimp on the DS microphone either. Surprising to me the DS gets up to 19 hours continuous game play on one single charge!

Needless to say, the Black Nintendo DS Lite or a DS for that matter will revolutionize the way games are played. No matter if its Wi-Fi Connection allowing you put your skills to the test against players across the room or across the world or the impressive 3D rendered graphics, this Nintendo DS Lite system delivers the goods with cutting-edge portable games for fans of any age.

Nintendo DS Skin are vinyl piece pre-cut to custom fit your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite, these vinyl pre-cut templates are also flexible so as to make fitting them easy. There are two types of vinyl that make up skins for your Nintendo DS Lite, one is calendared vinyl and the other is cast vinyl.

Calendared vinyl has a glossy finish but is not as pliable as cast vinyl and does not conform to shapes very easy, and also when it is exposed to heat can shrink over time, so as you can see not that useful to put on your Nintendo DS Lite!

Cast vinyl on the other hand is of higher quality to calendared vinyl and also have a higher gloss level, they actually look more shiny a bit like the automotive paint you would have on your car! They do not shrink over time and also do not discolour they conform to just about any shape and can last up to 7-9 years! So out of the two vinyl’s we can see which Nintendo DS skin is most suitable for your Nintendo DS or your Nintendo DS Lite?

I also like the fact that there Nintendo DS skin have battle armour that makes them resistant to smudging and in general more hard-wearing than other skins and they last a whole lot longer. But one thing I used to be worried about when I first started looking into getting Nintendo DS skin was is it going to ruin the look of my Nintendo DS and make it look bad and leave sticky glue stuff on my Nintendo DS Lite if I wanted to peel it of again?

Luckily, the only time I ever peel my skins off of my Nintendo DS Lite is when I change and order myself another cool looking skin to replace the old one, and every time I have done so I have never had any sticky residue on my Nintendo DS so it made changing skins a whole lot easier and a lot quicker too!

3. Which Doesn’t Belong? - 3 different characters are shown one by one on top screen with numbers below. You need to work out which one isn’t the same type.

4. Pokemon Search, “Find the Pokemon” - You need to watch the Pokemon as they move around the screen and find where they are hiding.

5. Who Would Win? - You are presented with 2 Pokemon on top screen one by one, with multiple choice answers below. You have to guess which one would have the advantage in a duel.

6. Pokemon Memory - You have 12 chances in this game (text displayed on top screen) to match Pokemon characters shown on bottom screen as Poke Balls. Each time you try to get a match their pictures are shown on top screen.

7. Poke Ball Shuffle - Watch carefully as Pikachu hops into one of 5 Poke Balls and the balls shuffled on top screen. Use the arrow buttons to choose where Pikachu is hiding.

Pokemon Gallery:

Consisting of all 151 from Pokemon Diamond to Pokemon Pearl Sinnoh Region. Select Pokedex from Main Menu, then “Pokemon Gallery” on menu to enter. Displayed one by one, with top screen displaying character image, name and number on bottom screen, listen to a voice-over description of name and type.

Find a Pokemon:

Plenty of selection here. You can locate your Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl by number, letter, height, weight, type, number list, letter list, or collection. You can also add to your collection after viewing.

Options Menu:

Sound - Select volume control from 0 (no sound), up to 4 (loudest). The sound is fantastic, very clear, with female voice-overs throughout, and Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl themed music.

Contrast - There are 4 settings for contrast which can be changed separately on both lower and upper screens.

The other bonus is the Pokedex automatically goes into standby mode if left unattended to save on battery power.

Summary:

Score: 8/10

Overall the Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl Sinnoh Pokedex is a fun and informative electronic toy, with plenty of challenges, that I would recommend for kids. Simple gameplay, easy learning curve and controls, vibrant sound, gallery and other features would provide a long lasting investment.

The screen graphics are displayed in black and white, of which I’ve deducted 2 points off final score, as I feel a colour screen would make this toy perfect.

Mario Party 8 Review

The world’s most popular party videogame is getting a lot crazier in Mario Party 8 for Wii! Whether you’re shaking up cola cans or lassoing barrels, you and your friends will be drawn into the action like never before using the Wii Remote.

All new ways to play:

Play with motion control: Row your way through a river race, Punch a statue to pieces, Steer race cars, mopeds, and go-karts, Handle a balancing pole while walking a tightrope.

Play using the Pointer: Shoot at Boos in a haunted house, Drag and drop toppings in a cake-decorating competition, Select the correct answers in game-show challenges.

Play using the Wii Remote’s buttons: Jump and pummel your way through a football brawl, Hop and run across a field of spinning platforms.

All new features:

Mario Party 8 for Wii also includes dozens of new mini-games, six new party boards, and many new game modes. In a series first, players can transform their characters into many forms, such as player-smashing boulders and coin-sucking vampires. Mario Party 8 also includes “extra-large” mini-games like Star Carnival Bowling and Table Menace. One to four players can play Mario Party 8 for Wii, each with a Wii Remote.

Pros:

+ When the Wii Controls are good, the games are actually quite fun
+ Simplistic gameplay; anyone could pick this up and play it with no problems
+ There are over 60 mini-games to play

Cons:

- There are far too many mini-games where the wii controls feel tacked on, and these games are pretty boring to play
- There are far too many mini-games that don’t make use of the motion sensor controls at all
- There are not a lot of very inventive mini-games
- In short, the game doesn’t do much to stand out above previous Mario Party installments. You’d think with the Wii Remote, Mario Party 8 would be something new to experience, but instead it ends up not being that much of a step higher than Mario Party 7

Overall Appraisal

Graphics : B+
Sound : B
Control : B+
Fun & Enjoyment : B+ for solo players; A- for Multiplayer Action

10. Super Mario Sunshine - Mario uses a water pack to levitate and shoot enemies. The fun parts of this gamecube games are when you’re not use the water pack at all, do pure platforming like previous Mario games.

9. Pikmin - Control huge swarms of tiny plant creatures and throw them to enemies, solve puzzles, and rebuild your space ship. You have to beat the game in 30 game days, so the entire adventure has a sense of speed and adrenaline while you try to beat the game fast enough.

8. Zelda Twilight Princess - A mature Link tries to save Princess Zelda from the worlds of dark and light. Twilight Princess is the first Zelda game where Link can control other animals and turns into a wolf.

7. Animal Crossing - You move into a house in a new town and must get to know the townsfolk while running errands, planting trees, designing t-shirts, and decorating your house. It is similar with ‘The Sims’ game.

6. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - A platforming game using the Gamecube Bongo’s as the controller. Run left and right with left and right drumbeats. Jump by hitting both and punch by clapping. The game is short but each level is unique and has different goals to achieve besides just getting to the end.

5. Zelda Wind Waker - A very fun adventure, Link can control the winds on this game. Link rides a giant board to across the whole world, find secrets at the sea, and go to many islands to save princess Zelda.

4. Super Monkey Ball - Roll a monkey around the levels while he inside the ball. The single player mode is like a puzzle where you have to get the monkey through a goal without falling off a ledge. But the game really fun in multiplayer mode. Monkey Boxing, Monkey Racing, and best of all Monkey Target. Up to four players can play this at once.

3. Mario Kart Double Dash - A faster, better graphics Mario Kart game plus you can control two racers instead of one. Each character has a special weapon only they can receive so picking your combo of riders is very important.

2. Super Smash Bros Melee - It uses the joystick and two buttons for almost every move. Anyone can pick up and start playing, but experts will learn different combos and “secret” moves to keep them coming back for more.

1. Metroid Prime - Great weapons, thoughtful puzzles, beautiful graphics, and fun game play. If you like first person shooters or liked the original Metroid games, you will love this gamecube game!

With any or all of these ten gamecube games in your collection, you should have hours of fun and definitely enjoy your gamecube buy. Also don’t forget, these ten gamecube games are compatible to be played at Wii, so don’t miss the fun!

The Nintendo gamecube Controller provides the crucial connection between the player and the game. Two analog Control Sticks, a built-in rumble feature and flawless ergonomic design ensure that gamecube controller is so practical and natural that it is a pleasure using it.

Gamecube Controller Colors

One of best part of gamecube controller is the availability of colors. The color choices for Nintendo gamecube controller are as follows:

Indigo Purple

Jet Black

Spice Orange

also there are limited edition color such as :

Emerald Blue

Pearl White

Starlight Gold

Indigo Clear

Symphonic Green

Gundam Copper

Mario Red and Blue

Luigi Green and Blue

Wario Yellow and Purple

Wavebird Wireless Controller

Gamecube controller also have wireless version which called Wavebird Wireless Controller. The WaveBird Wireless Controller allows players to feel the freedom of cord-free gaming. Another version of gamecube controller is Bongo Controller, it’s a special version gamecube controller for Donkey Konga game.

Wii Compatible

The GameCube controller, in both its original wired version and the wireless WaveBird version, is compatible with the Wii. Virtual Console games and certain Wii and WiiWare games, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Sonic Unleashed and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, can be played with a GameCube controller.

Third Parties Controllers

This is a great time to mention the difference between Nintendo gamecube controllers and third party controllers. Nintendo gamecube controllers are more reliable and comfortable while third party controllers are cheaper. I myself, will only buy original Nintendo gamecube controllers, because my opinion they are worth the extra money for their reliability and stability.

How Many Gamecube Controllers?

The Gamecube console originally came with one gamecube controller in the box but four slots for controllers. So you can buy three more gamecube controllers for the system if you want. If you always playing by yourself, you don’t have to spend money on an extra gamecube controller. But I recommend buying at least one more because you never know when a friend will come over to play. If you choose any of the games that allow four players to play at once, definitely buy three extra gamecube controllers. They will be worth every penny with all the fun you will have with them.
