Wii Balance Board - Concept and Information
Nintendo Wii Fit with Wii Balance Board and its concept were originally announced by Shigeru Miyamoto at the E3 conference in July, 2007. Nintendo corporation got the idea of a Wii balance board by observing how the way the Sumo wrestlers did the weigh-ins. These wrestlers are so heavy that they have to use two weight scales. The electronic circuits of the two scales compute the cumulative weight of the individual wrestler by analyzing data from the two individual scales.
Wii balance board is split into four quadrants, to use it the user stands on the board and controls the on-screen action with their own movements. The thought process being that maintaining your balance means you’re doing the movements correctly. A must have if you’re considering playing Snowboarding or Skiing games. Some games also will involve sitting on the board and shaking your butt, there are tons of other crazy mini-games requiring you to hop all over which to lots of folk sounds fun.
Wii Balance Board has a weight limit of 136 kg so if you want to use it and your already over that weight you’ll have to start loosing weight right now. Once you’re down to the weight limit and you start using the board, the weight will drop off you even more!
When Wii balance board was first released, you have to buy it together with a game called Wii Fit. Fans are thrilled by the Wii balance board, but they also want to find out if the balance board is available for sale without the purchase of Wii Fit. After all, there are other games that they can play using the balance board. Unfortunately, the answer to that question is a disappointing “No”.
Realizing that there’s a gap in the market, third parties started to release copycat balance boards. These are boards that work in the same way as the original Wii balance board, but you don’t have to buy it together with Wii Fit. As far as fans are concerned, they don’t really care. As long as the balance board works, they are happy.
Wii balance board is far from being a contender as a serious fitness board. However, it does provides lots of fun for family and friends. Be careful with the movements though. You may end up hitting somebody in the face. This happens when you get too carried away while playing the games. You may also find yourself getting addicted to the games and playing too many hours. This may cause bodily injuries to various parts of your body such as your wrist or knee. So play with moderation and enjoy your Nintendo Revolution Wii balance board.
